DATA-TRIGGERED PAYMENTS
As the landscape of clinical trials evolves, we see an increased need for remote payments or payments that are triggered by a specific event, enabling participants to receive funds without traveling to the clinic.
“Micropayments” are a common example, where a participant completes an eDiary via mobile platform (e.g., ePRO/eCOA), and in turn, a payment is triggered and funds delivered to the participant’s ClinCard reloadable debit card or virtual card.

In addition to physical prepaid debit cards, participants may opt in to receive clinical trial reimbursements and payments via a virtual card (U.S. only). If virtual card payment option is selected, card information will be sent to the participant by email upon being registered within the ClinCard portal.
Both physical and virtual Visa cards may be linked to the participant’s online account (accessible by mobile app) and added to a mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.).
